Jim Starr

Jim Starr has been singing and playing musical instruments since he was five years old.   Born in Texas and raised in Los Angeles he formed his first musical group after high school and through the years, has performed at many exclusive Hotels and Country Clubs in the Los Angeles area.  He always performed classic, “Las Vegas Style”.

 

When Jim joined the Los Angeles Police Department, the Chief of Police saw an opportunity to put Jim’s musical talents to work as a spokesperson for the Police Department and a representative for community relations, which involved performing for elementary schools throughout Los Angeles teaching children safety through music.  Jim became known as “The Singing Cop” and went on to appear on national television shows and perform at the Hollywood Bowl.   Jim has shared the stage with many Stars, including Sammy Davis Jr. Glen Campbell, Bernadette Peters, Freddy Fender and Dinah Shore.  He also became the Vocalist of the Los Angeles Police Concert Band, “The Official Band of the City of Los Angeles”, and the LAPD Swing Band. After retiring from LAPD, Jim continued his musical career and has performed for events around the world – one of his favorites being for the King of Sweden.  Jim continues to perform, make personal appearances, as well as write and produce music for radio and television commercials.  He has produced children’s television shows, documentaries, and many live musical events across the Nation.

Christina began her career in the third grade when she won a talent contest singing “To Know Him is to Love Him”. Ever since then, musical performance has been her passion.  She has gone on to star in musical productions in high school, college and professionally. Her repertoire ranges from Big Band Jazz to Broadway to Country, and she has appeared on stages from Las Vegas to Stockholm, Sweden.  

 

Christina has been featured as lead vocalist with Les Brown and his Band of Renown, The Los Angeles Police Concert Band, and numerous casual and big bands. 

She worked with legendary Country Music Hall of Fame recipient, performer and producer, Cliffie Stone. Together their combined efforts produced a CD and video of her own version of “Till I Kissed Ya”.  She has recorded many songs for CD’s, videos and commercials.  She is also a songwriter and recently co-wrote and recorded the holiday song, "My Santa Sugar Daddy".  Christina is a singer, and was a co-founder of a performance trio specializing in tributes to The Andrews Sisters, The McGuire Sisters, Girl Groups of the 1960’s, and Mamma Mia. 

 

Christina’s theatrical and television credits run the gamut from playing Marion in The Music Man to Mary Pickford and Betty Grable in “Goodmorning Hollywood”; playing a ‘lady of the evening’ in Alfred Hitchcock Presents - “Gigolo”;  to singing on the television shows Your Big Break and the Gilmore Girls.

 

In addition, Christina created, produced, and performed in the children’s musical television series, “Starrland.” She has also written and produced a reality pilot for television called “Vegas Profiles,” produced music and training videos, and is currently in development with a number of projects for television and film.

 

A native of California, Christina holds a BA in Physical Education/Theatre Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MA in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
